Perseverance

As I walk, Following my shadow,

Cast by the midday sun.

I am guided by my own darkness,

Looking down, it shows the way.

My body casts its shadow,

Giving refuge to my mind.

For me to see, how to be free!

Slowly I walk towards infinity.

Each moment welcomes me home.

My footsteps, the rhythm of time.

My breath, the space in between.

As night falls, and the stars awake,

The desert asks me, to look to the skies.

In the darkness, I search for that one small light,

To guide me through the silent night.

And as dawn breaks on a new day,

I find my place to pray.

I make my home and light my fire,

Warmth and tea for us to share.

The sound of water welcomes,

The ocean is at our feet.

Sit beside me for a while,

Listen closely to what I say.

I am fire, I am freedom!

I am life, and I am death!

I am water, I am love!

I am your loving prayers.

Bring to me your burdens,

Cast them into the flames.

Bring to me your silence,

Let it be my breath of air.

Welcome to this space.

Join us with your love,

and Hold us with you grace.

Welcome to this space,

Fill us with your light,

and warm this sacred place.
